Region I Student Registration Deadline Extended a Week!

The 2024 Region I Science Fair has extended the deadline for student registration. Student registration is now open and available until

Friday, February 16, 2024. There is still time! Don't miss this rare opportunity to enhance your child, your student(s), and/or your own educational experience. All students residing in our region and currently enrolled in 1st - 12th grades are eligible to participate.

Region VI Competition Returns to a Local Point for 2024

The 2024 MSEF Region I and Region VI had previously been combined into a singular competition location at USM in Hattiesburg. This has been revised and Region VI for MS Science and Engineering Fair will now have the ability to compete in their local area! The Region VI MSEF is scheduled to take place on February 29, 2024, on The Gulf Park campus of Southern Miss in Long Beach, MS. Region I Handbook and Important Forms

The '23-'24 MSEF Region I Handbook has been made accessible for viewing, downloading, and printing (if desired). This official Handbook file includes the required forms that must be completed to successfully register and participate in the Region I MS Science and Engineering Fair. The Region I Handbook also includes valuable information regarding science fair project guidelines, resources, and price values for student registration.

Forms Available

​

The following forms have been shared and made available for submission: Student Registration Forms for Lower Fair (Grades K-6), Student Registration Forms for Upper Fair (Grades 6-12), School Registration Forms, and The MSEF Abstract Form. While there are separate registration forms for the upper and lower divisions, please note that both divisions will participate in the Region I Science Fair on the same day, February 23, 2024. All of these forms can be located under the "Resources" tab >> "Forms".

Region VI Temporary Shift

For this year only, students within Region VI will be adopted into a local region's science fair event. Schools in Region VI may choose to attend either the Region I fair in Hattiesburg, MS, or the Region II fair in Jackson, MS. Which science fair location to attend is left up to each school's individual discretion on what works best for them. The counties that are included in Region VI are as follows: Perry, Greene, Pearl River, Stone, George, Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson.
